This is a valuable record of Mr. Mitsuoki Tsubouchi, who was born in Nagasaki City in 1932 as the eldest of eight brothers. He moved to Hashima Island at the age of three. In this record, he will be talking about his life on Hashima Island from the time of the war to the post-war period.It is a valuable testimony of his childhood memories of moving to Hashima Island with his family, the way of life of the people on the island, including the communal baths, and the view of the atomic bombing from Hashima Island.
Mr. Tsubouchi was a projectionist at a movie theater of Hashima Island called "Showa-kan" from 1957 to 1961, and also left Hashima Island in 1961 due to the change in energy policy. He passed away in 2019 in Tokyo.
